Quick Pins
Quick Pins are a customizable strip of shortcuts in the sidebar. Pin any note, notebook, or template to Quick Pins for single-click access without navigating through the full sidebar tree.
Adding a Quick Pin
There are two ways to pin something:
- Drag and drop: Drag a note card from the note list, or a notebook from the sidebar tree, onto the Quick Pins section in the sidebar.
- Context menu: Right-click a note card or notebook and select Add to Quick Pins.
Pin Limit
| Tier | Maximum Quick Pins |
|---|---|
| Free | 5 |
| Pro | Unlimited |
Pro Feature
More than 5 Quick Pins requires the NuvoPad Pro upgrade ($9.99 one-time payment). Free users will see an upgrade prompt when accessing this feature.
Reordering Pins
Drag a pin up or down within the Quick Pins section to reorder it. The order is saved immediately and persists across restarts.
Removing a Pin
Right-click any Quick Pin and select Remove from Quick Pins. Removing a pin does not delete the underlying note or notebook.
Pin Types and Icons
Quick Pins display a per-type icon to help distinguish between items:
| Type | Behaviour on click |
|---|---|
| Note | Opens the note directly in the editor |
| Notebook | Filters the note list to show notes in that notebook |
| Template (Pro) | Creates a new note pre-filled with the template content |
💡 Tip
Storage
Quick Pin state (which items are pinned and their order) is stored in the browser's localStorage. It is device-local and is not affected by database imports or exports.
