Focus Mode

Focus Mode hides the sidebar, note list, toolbar, tab bar, and status bar — leaving only your note title and content on screen. It is designed for extended writing sessions where interface distractions should be eliminated.

Pro Feature

Focus Mode requires the NuvoPad Pro upgrade ($9.99 one-time payment). Free users will see an upgrade prompt when accessing this feature.

Entering Focus Mode

Press Ctrl+Shift+F while a note is open. The application window enters full-screen mode and all UI chrome is hidden.

You can also enter Focus Mode from the editor overflow menu (⋯) or the command palette (Toggle Focus Mode).

What is Hidden in Focus Mode

  • Sidebar
  • Note list
  • Formatting toolbar
  • Tab bar
  • Status bar
  • Window title bar (depends on OS window decorations)

Only the note title input, the editor content area, and the save indicator remain visible.

Exiting Focus Mode

Press Ctrl+Shift+F again, or press Escape, to exit Focus Mode and return to the standard layout.

Autosave in Focus Mode

Autosave continues to run normally during Focus Mode. The subtle save indicator is still visible in the top corner so you know when your work has been persisted.

💡 Tip

Combine Focus Mode with the Remember last cursor position setting (Settings → Editor) so that when you exit Focus Mode and later return, your cursor lands exactly where you left off.
